As industrial lubricants, carrier oils with a high smoke point are an environmentally-friendly natural alternative to petroleum-based lubricants for machinery with moving parts. Added to paints, stains, and varnishes, our natural oils not only protect the metal and wooden surfaces being coated, but can favorably affect the elasticity, drying time, odor, and ease of application of the coatings.
In Pest Control, some of our fixed oils are increasingly being sought after – in lieu of synthetic pesticides -- as natural “biopesticides” to prevent pest contamination of stored foodstuffs, and to treat pest infestation of crops in both agri-business and in home gardens. In particular, Neem Oil – a fixed oil that is cold-pressed from the seeds of the Neem tree (Azadirachta indica) -- is widely-used as an EPA-approved biopesticide.
